HOURS OF OPERATION The Corps' general hours of operation are from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight, most days of the week. There are also many nights when there are 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m. crews. Our ultimate goal is to provide 24-hour coverage on weekends. Services are dependent upon the number and availability of our unpaid volunteer professional members. OUR CERTIFICATION Crews include members who have completed N.Y.S. Emergency Medical Technician and Defibrillation training. The RVAC is State |

RVAC is a participant in the New York City EMS Mutual Aid Radio System. RVAC SERVICES RVAC is your community ambulance service for emergency calls, transport of the sick and injured, free loan of patient-assist equipment and low-cost CPR and first aid training. RVAC provides Basic Life Support Defibrillator- level ambulance service. Since beginning operations, the Corps' volunteers have answered over 19,800 calls for assistance. Over 35,000 families and businesses are within our service area. |
NON-EMERGENCY TRANSPORTS RVAC can be called at (718) 386-7230 for medically necessary, non-emergency medical transport of neighborhood residents to or from a hospital or doctor's office. Please note: Based on crew availability. Please provide at least 48 hours advance notice. VEHICLES & EQUIPMENT The RVAC ambulance, Rig 7, has a transport capacity of up to five patients, and carries a variety of medical supplies and equipment, including bandages, dressings, burn sheets, glucose, oxygen, and a defibrillator. |
